"Overlooking the Place Vendôme, the Ritz Carlton Paris is ranked among the most luxurious hotels in the world"
This Parisian palace majored on discretion where required, but equally acted as the place to see and be seen. Originally, people came to the Ritz for its famous dinners, perhaps reserving a private salon with a few musicians. Women could arrive unaccompanied to enjoy a London-style five o'clock tea. In the 1920s, the Ritz opened its first bar, where the art of conversation took pride of place. Dancing was the order of the day, both afternoon and evening and the word “ritzy” even entered the social vocabulary, describing the ultimate in clandestine elegance.

Ritz Carlton Paris
Its exquisitely appointed rooms and suites bear the names of Coco Chanel, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Marcel Proust, among other luminaries—all of whom considered the Ritz “like a second home.” Under the glass ceiling, in the shade of the Linden trees in the Grand Jardin, the Ritz Paris is a place where dreams come to life. The Michelin-starred restaurants are a journey through high gastronomy. The Salon Proust is the place to enjoy teatime à la franchise. And no visit to the Ritz Paris would be complete without stopping by the Bar Hemingway.
Ritz Club & Spa
The Ritz Club, with its sumptuous pool and the “Chanel au Ritz Paris” area, elevate well-being to an art form.
The Ritz Club Paris is a destination in its own right. From the moment you arrive, Art Deco features and warm-colored graphics create an enveloping universe, a cozy and refined approach to well being. Behind the main door sits one of the most exclusive clubs in the capital. What’s in store? Holistic treatments, unique expertise and custom-tailored experiences. In keeping with current health and safety guidelines, access to the Ritz Club is by reservation only, for facials and body treatments, as well as the David Mallett hair salon.
Ritz Carlton Paris History
The hotel’s prime location in the Place Vendôme has anchored it not just as a temporal respite for weary travelers but as an actual home to luminaries such as Coco Chanel (she lived there for 34 years), Ernest Hemingway, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Marcel Proust as well as many major political figures visiting the city in the last century. In 2012, it made the bold decision to close in order to undergo a top-to-bottom restoration of this historic luxury hotel. The hotel’s re-opening in 2016 brought a world of opulence and historic prominence to the 21st-century traveler.
